Renato Auditore was the only known son of the Assassin Domenico Auditore and his wife, and by extension, an ancestor of Desmond Miles.[1] Renato was aboard his father's ship when it was ransacked by pirates under the employ of the Knights Templar, who sought the Codex of Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, which was in his father's possession.

- Although never named in Assassin's Creed II, Renato (meaning "reborn" in three languages) was named and identified as the grandfather of Giovanni Auditore da Firenze in the dossiers that were given to Abstergo Industries employees in the second stage of the Animi Training Program.
