The Pilgrimage Site was a location on the Pilgrim Hill on Kythera Island, Greece. It was the oldest sanctuary of the Greek goddess Aphrodite, and celebrations for the goddess drew pilgrims as well as sailors there.[1]

During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra explored the locale.[2] While there, a street vendor caught her attention.[3]
