Perseus was the legendary founder of Mycenae and the Perseid dynasty who was revered by the Greeks as one of the greatest heroes before Heracles.
In Greek legends, one of Perseus's most renowned deeds was in slaying the Gorgon Medusa, whose visage transformed those who beheld it into stone. Perseus succeeded in this by using a Sword of Eden.[1]
