- ―Paola, to Ezio
Paola is the leader of the Florentine courtesans (prostitutes) and owner of La Rosa Colta. She is an Assassin and also the sister of the Auditore's servant Annetta.
Description
She lost her parents, who were Assassins, at age 8 when they were killed at sea. Left with a choice between joining a nunnery and prostitution, she began a life on the streets.
At 16, she vanished from the records, only to reappear at age 20 when she was arrested for murdering a city guard. On an interesting note, Giovanni Auditore represented her in court, winning the case on a self defence plea.
Released from prison, Paola went on to start her own brothel to protect many other unfortunate women of the street.
Paola took care of Giovanni's wife, Maria and daughter, Claudia, when Giovanni was executed for treason. She trained Ezio by teaching him how to blend in with the crowd. She instructed him to repair his Hidden Blade via Leonardo da Vinci. After Ezio killed Uberto Alberti, Paola had him become incognito, and sent him and his family on their way.
After Ezio fought The Spaniard for possession of the Apple in Venice, she revealed herself as an Assassin and was present when Ezio was inducted into the Order.
