Naukratis was a city in ancient Egypt, being considered one of the modern Greek-built cities, like Alexandria.[1]
History[edit | edit source]
In mid first century BCE, the city was in constant conflict between landowners and the peasants who worked their fields. At one particular moment, the conflict sublimated into violence thanks to the unethical practices of Wakare, and the angry mob that followed attempted to kill Qenna, the son of a lower-ranking civil official, but their efforts were thwarted by his bodyguards, Raia and Bion.[1]
