Ms. Morehead was an elderly woman and a client of the Malta Banking Corporation branch in San Diego.
In 2015, Ms. Morehead went to her bank, needing money for her daughter's medical bills. Charlotte de la Cruz, the employee who met with her, illegally diverted ten thousand dollars from real-estate developers to her account after learning that Morehead's insurance would not cover her daughter's healthcare.[1]
