Memnon was an eagle raised by the falconer Nibris in 9th century Aksumite Kingdom, being hatched from a line of eagles trained by both him and Fuladh Al Haami in their youth. Named after the Aethiopian warrior by Nibris' protégé Kaleb, Memnon was often employed to send messages from the Church of Abuna Yemata to Fuladh's new home in the Abbasid Caliphate's capital of Baghdad.[1]
After a snake cult led by General Endubis took over the church, Nibris escaped with Memnon, hoping to find help in Fuladh. Memnon flew to Baghdad with a encoded letter, leading to the Hidden One returning to Adulis. Memnon later reunited with Nibris after Fuladh and Roshan freed his owner from imprisonment.[1]
