Maine is a state located in the north-eastern region of the United States, in the area known as New England. Maine is bordered by New Hampshire on the southern border.
The colony of Maine, then apart of Massachusetts, was one of the thirteen colonies that claimed independence from Great Britain during the American Revolution.
