Lucas Clarkson (died 2039) was a member of the British Brotherhood of Assassins active in London during the 21st century.
Lucas traveled to London to protect the Tomb of Assassins from the Templars, being followed into the city by his sister Darcy. He would eventually be captured and tortured by the Templars, passing away due to his injuries.[1]
Lucas is a descendant of Jacob and Evie Frye.[2]
Biography
Inspired by the acts of their Victorian era ancestors in liberating London from its stranglehold under Grand Master Crawford Starrick and the British Templars, Lucas wanted to follow their footsteps and take the fight to the resurgent Templars in London. This caused friction with Darcy, who warned him that the British Brotherhood was too weak to fight back, though he in turn chided her for not showing initiative like their forbearers and warned his sister to not follow him.[3]
Despite his warning, he knew she would follow so he marked intel and left audio files behind for her. He discovered how rampant the Templars had become since the expulsion of the Assassins from the city, with them having agents in organizations such as SIRS, Albion, and Clan Kelley.[3]
Lucas was eventually captured by Graham Westerly and strapped to a machine at Albion Station Kennington to be tortured for the location of the Tomb of the Assassins. At some point, he broke and told Westerly the location and what the Tomb housed. Westerly monologued on how the Assassins were regularly reduced to nothing through purges and often made up of the unruly lower classes, before Lucas interrupted him saying he would rather die than hear another word from him, which prompted the Templar to tell him he wanted him alive when they breached the tomb. The torture had been too much, however, and Lucas passed away due to his injuries.[1]
Behind the scenes
Lucas is featured as a character in Watch Dogs: Legion, a game also developed by Ubisoft. Despite being made by the same company, the crossover is purely "fan service" and is thus not considered canon within the Assassin's Creed series according to Watch Dogs: Legion Live Producer Lathieeshe Thillainathan.[4][5]
