Ljethr was one of Suttungr's Outriders, a secretive group of Jötnar spies and warriors, who invaded Svartálfaheimr during the Muspel invasion.

Biography

Ljethr followed his leader Riekr to Svartalfheim and then left to the eastern part of Svaladal. He tasked his warriors to interrogate any dwarfs by any means, but his company spoke freely of Ljethr's location among their prisoners, especially Solvej and Tait. Both dwarfs were then rescued by the Æsir lord Havi, who was informed of Ljethr's whereabouts, which was east of Stór Mylna. At the rendezvous point, Ljethr was in his wolf form as he ordered the warriors to guard him and the piece of armor he carried. However, they were attacked by Havi, who managed to kill both Ljethr and his warriors. From Ljethr's personal effects, Havi acquired the Jotun Helmet.[1]
