Jonas confronted by Altaïr
"What's this, an Assassin? Does Saladin have his eyes on poor Cyprus too?"
―Jonas, moments before his death, 1192.[src]

Jonas (unknown-1192) was a merchant from Kyrenia, who, on the orders of a man impersonating Barnabas – the Cypriot Resistance leader – was assassinated wrongfully by the Mentor of the Levantine Assassins, Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad.

On the news of Jonas' death by Altaïr's hands, it triggered a riot in Kyrenia, as he was highly respected in the Cypriot society.
