- "Ah, Venezia! What other place is as beautiful, as stable, as perfect!"
- ―Alvise, during Ezio and Leonardo's tour of Venice, 1481.[src]

Alvise da Vilandino (1441 – 1500) was a baggage handler who resided in Venice.
Having been born in Venice in 1441, Alvise later welcomed the polymath Leonardo da Vinci and his close friend, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, to the city in 1481. Following this, he gave the pair a short tour of the San Polo District and introduced Leonardo to his new workshop in Venice, before being rudely left without a tip for his service.
Several years later, in 1500, Alvise served as an officer in the Venetian Navy, which was at war with the Ottoman Empire. Having drank heavily the night before, Alvise stumbled out onto the deck in the midst of the battle and fell over the rail, where he drowned.
Trivia
