John O'Brien was an Irish workingman who had traveled to America to start a new life and escape the emerald island, where his liberties were constantly challenged.
His genetic memories were later used as an Animi Avatar by the Templar company Abstergo Industries, for the training of their Animus recruits, under the title of Carpenter.
