The Hoplite Javelin was a type of javelin used during the 5th century BCE. Though mostly used by hoplites, as the javelin's name suggests, by far they were not the only ones.
During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra commonly found this weapon in the inventories of blacksmiths and looted it from bodies and chests during her travels throughout Greece.[1]

Behind the scenes
The Hoplite Javelin, a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, shares the same model as a number of other similar weapons in the same game, including the Conflict Spear. Furthermore, in the same game a number of NPCs, including the Eagle Bearer's mother Myrrine and Spartan light soldiers as well as hoplites, bear a model of the same weapon, albeit in a color which is unacquirable. All these are the recycled model of the Needle, a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Origins.
