Lieutenant General Sir Henry Clinton (1730 – 1795) was a British Regular during the American Revolutionary War. He tried to draw George Washington into open conflict, though Washington knew such a maneuver would be unwise and relied on the efforts of the Culper Ring to keep his movements secret.[1]
