Here we seek to reveal the danger of blind faith. This article has yet to be sourced. Please add citations and a list of appearances verifying its relevance to Assassin's Creed. Failure to do so will result in the article being deleted. |
- "Fashioned by the Helmschmied Armory in 1489, only a few sets were completed due to the weight of the metal."
- ―Description written in the Animus Outfit menu.

The Helmschmied Drachen Armor is a pre-order bonus in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. Despite the name, the armor is a cosmetic outfit that has no gameplay effect.
Availability
Codes unlocking the Helmschmied Drachen Armor were available through any of the following:
- Purchase of the Codex or Auditore Edition of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.[1]
- Pre-order Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood from Amazon.com, Ubisoft.com, Steam (for the PC version), or Play.com. [citation needed]
- Purchase of The Da Vinci Disappearance DLC for the Xbox 360 and Playsation 3.[2]
Appearance
The robes below the waist use the same pattern as Altaïr's outfit from Assassin's Creed, except the Drachen robes are tailored to Ezio's body and have a leather texture rather than cloth. The torso is completely covered with stylised metal plates. The shoulder pieces are assymetrical: the right upper arm includes a wide piece, but the left shoulder omits this for a normal spadula to make room for the cape. There are three unique features to this outfit: on the waist, the Assassin's emblem is flanked by rows of throwing knife sheathes; leather gloves are on each hand (other outfits have only one or no gloves); and the inner collar is closed.[3]
The Helmschmied Drachen Armor cannot be dyed. Although the outfit hides the presence of the equipped armor and the Climb Leap Glove, these items still function normally.[3]
Bugs
As with other cosmetic outfit in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, the Helmschmied Drachen Armor overrides the outfit Ezio is expected to be wearing in the game. This leads to some bugs:
- The Drachen Armor worn even when Ezio is supposed to be disguised as a guard, and the guards will not notice.[3]
- Whenever Ezio removes his hood (such as during cutscenes or at Monteriggioni), the Drachen's hood will remain upright.[3]
- During the Cristina Memories, when wearing the Drachen Armor Ezio will be older and bearded rather than being the young man he was in Florence.[3][4]
Trivia
- "Helmschmied Drachen" is German for "Helmet Smith Dragon". There is also a set of Helmschmied Armor in Assassin's Creed II.[4]
- The Helmschmied armor also appears as a purchasable item in Assassin's Creed: Project Legacy, where its description states that it's "The finest in foreign engineering" and has an incredible price of 200,000 florins.[5]
- Official Concept artwork shows that the Helmschmied Drachen Armor was planned to be colored white, yet in-game, it appears black.
