Ali was the Moorish bodyguard of Galeazzo Maria Sforza, the Duke of Milan.
Biography
On the 26 December 1476, the bodyguard accompanied Sforza to Milan Cathedral for high mass, unaware of a Templar plot to murder the Duke. When the conspirators struck, the bodyguard immediately engaged and killed several before joining the Assassin Giovanni Auditore da Firenze, who had arrived too late to intervene, in chasing down the man who had struck the first blow, Giovanni Andrea Lampugnani. Cornering the man against a wall, the bodyguard hooked the end of his battle-staff around Lampugnani's throat and, despite Giovanni's pleas not to, killed the Templar by snapping his neck. After spitting on Lampugnani's corpse, he went to mourn Sforza, who had died of his wounds.[1]
Behind the scenes
Ali is a minor character only appearing in the 2009 short film, Assassin's Creed: Lineage, where he was portrayed by Canadian actor Henri Pardo. He was only named during the film's credits.
