Guy Fawkes (13 April 1570 – 31 January 1606), also known as Guido Fawkes while fighting for the Spanish, was a member of a group of provincial English Catholics who planned the failed Gunpowder Plot of 1605.

Guy Fawkes attempted to blow up the Palace of Westminster, but was arrested by Sir Thomas Knyvet.[1] After his capture, Guy was trialed and executed in the Palace.[2]

In 2010, Shaun Hastings worked as a junior professor and taught a course that included the 1605 Gunpowder Plot. As a result, on December 9, Shaun took the pseudonym "Guy Fawkes" when he released a letter detailing Abstergo Industries' inner workings to WikiLeaks.
