Gobō

Gobō (御坊市) is a city in southern Kii, Japan.

History

By 1582, Gobo's elder installed a group of warriors to keep his people safe and protected. However, due to his plans to keep the town's resources selfishly, he exiled the group and ousted them from Gobō. Vengeful, the warriors became the Winter Raiders and raided the province every winter in retaliation.[1]

Around the same time, the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke arrived in the city and came by a local woman named Rin, who asked for their help. Leading them to meet with the elder, Rin left them while they talked with the elder about the raiders. Naoe and Yasuke accepted to help and hunt down the raiders. However, after assassinating all of them, their investigation led them to discovery of the elder's initial betrayal. Returning to the city, they confronted the elder, who admitted to his actions without any remorse. Before leaving, they warned the elder to act accordingly or else they would be back.[1]
