Fogo

Fogo is a community on Fogo Island, Newfoundland in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

During the 18th century, the region was largely uninhabited, with the exception of a small camp near the coast. The rest of the area consisted of a complex system of caves, which was inhabited by polar bears. The presence of a native pillar and cave paintings depicting the legend of the Sky Woman indicated the region had at one point been the home of Iroquois tribes.

Trivia

  • In Assassin's Creed: Rogue, Fogo is depicted as being located on a seperate landmass in the northeastern reaches of the North Atlantic. In real life, the town of Fogo is built on an island situated near the eastern coasts of Newfoundland.
