Eumaeus, also known as Eumaios was a swineherd and a loyal friend of Odysseus, a hero in Homer's Odyssey.

After Odysseus' return to Ithaka from the Trojan War, Eumaios was the first to welcome back the hero, assisting him in slaughtering Penelope's suitors. Eumaios also owned a farm north of Odysseus' palace, which was visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra in 431 BCE.[1]
