Erymanthian Boar

The Erymanthian Boar was a legendary boar which inhabited the western Erymanthos Foothills in Elis, Greece.

A namesake of the mythological beast, the boar was hunted down by the Spartan misthios Kassandra sometime between 431 and 422 BCE. Kassandra looted its pelt and returned it to Daphnae, the leader of the Daughters of Artemis, in Phokis.[1]

Trivia

  • In Greek mythology, the Erymanthian Boar was captured by the hero and god Herakles as part of his Twelve Labours.
