Biography

In 1868, Cornelius was joined in his usual pub of "The George" by the British Assassin Jacob Frye, who had been tasked with uncovering information about the location of the Koh-i-Noor. Jacob first challenged Cornelius to a drinking competition, and when drunk, the pair left the tavern for two rounds of a shooting competition before moving to another pub. After some more drinking and an altercation with a couple of Blighters, Jacob escorted Cornelius home, protecting him from further attacks by the gang members. During the night, Cornelius left his house and fell asleep atop a nearby tree, where Jacob found him the following morning. Following a rough awakening by the Assassin, Cornelius informed him that the diamond was in the Tower of London and would remain there until the end of that night's gala, when it would be shipped back for another cutting by the Royal Jeweller,[1] an employee of the royally-appointed jewelry company Asprey & Garrard Limited.[2]
