Adulis' marketplace

Adulis was a port city on the coast of what is now Eritrea. A great economic outpost of the Aksumite Kingdom during its existence, Adulis allowed the exchange of Ethiopian products for luxury good from places like Greece and the Byzantine Empire through the Red Sea.[1]

In the 9th century CE, with the Aksumite Kingdom's decline, Adulis suffered with invasions by slavers from the Abbasid Caliphate as well as threats from a snake cult led by General Endubis, who forcibly conscripted men into his forces, kidnapping them and holding them at the city's slaughter district before moving them to the Church of Abuna Yemata. Responding to a request for help by his friend Nibris, Fuladh Al Haami, accompanied by Roshan, arrived at Adulis after commandeering a slave ship. While in the city, they met with the merchant Yazid at the marketplace before infiltrating the slaughter district to liberate Nibris.[2]
