The Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore, commonly called the Duomo, was the largest cathedral of Florence.It was built between 1296 and 1887 and it was here, in 1478, that Lorenzo de' Medici and his brother, Giuliano de' Medici, whilst attending High Mass, were attacked during the outbreak of the Pazzi Conspiracy.
