Caitlin Gift (died 2016) was a senior technician and Templar who worked on the Animus at Abstergo Industries.
Biography[edit | edit source]
In 2016, she was recruited by Juhani Otso Berg and Violet da Costa to research André Bolden's genetic memories at Abstergo's facility in Philadelphia. Caitlin convinced the old man to enter an Animus, allowing the Templars to examine his bloodline, which counted many Black Crosses and had been in contact with the Koh-i-Noor.[1]
However, Caitlin's fellow team member and covert Instruments of the First Will mole Freddy strangled her after she inadvertently discovered the trojan horse uploaded by Violet to syphon the data from the Animus servers to the Instruments.[2] Her death helped Berg realize that the Order had been infiltrated by a fifth column which was trying to hinder the Templars' search for the Piece of Eden.[3]
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
Introduced in the comic series Assassin's Creed: Templars, Caitlin Gift shares the same surname as father and son Thaddeus and Darius Gift, who were featured in the same comic. While all were Templars, she is separated from them by a few generations and their relationship, if any, is never made clear.
