Bridget Bishop (c. 1632 – 10 June 1692) was an American woman accused of witchcraft during the Salem witch trials. She was accused by Mercy Lewis and Abigail Williams, though she pleaded for being not guilty of witchcraft, she was executed nonetheless, being the first person hanged for the crime.
