Bjarke Broadside (died 870) was a Viking warrior from the Wolf Clan.

Biography

In 870, Bjarke Broadside was present when Taras and Roscoe told Kjotve the Cruel of their failures and paid for it. Kjotve then sent Bjark and some other warriors to the Temple of Heimdall atop the Feiknstafir mountains to retrieve the riches from it.[1]

There, the gathering was interrupted by Gull leading the shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan to them. After some fighting, Eivor laid on the ground bleeding, telling Bjarke that she would not be a prize and that, by the end of the day, any riches of Heimdall would be hers, on Styrbjorn's name. Bjarke informed her that at that very moment, Styrbjorn was already dead as a result of a raid in Stavanger.[1]

Eivor witnessed Bjarke beat Gull into submission, taunting him. When Bjarke went to beat her again, before Eivor tackled him to the ground to rescue Gull. Bjarke was dumbfounded that Eivor would protect the one who betrayed her, but easily tossed her off the temple, seemingly to her death. The weakened foundations shook, scaring Erland. Eivor took advantage of this to sneak up behind Bjarke and stab him through the back of the head with a sword before turning to fight Erland.[2]
