The Einherjar, also called the Swellers of Glory,[1] were those who had died in battle and were brought to Valhalla by Valkyries in Norse mythology.
Legacy[edit | edit source]
In the shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir's visions of Odin's adventures in Svartálfaheimr, Odin's einherjar raiding crew of his ship Skíðblaðnir was personified as Eivor's real world crew for her Sea-Chariot.[2]
In the Viking expansion into England, a set of armor inspired by the Einherjar was made available to the Eivor through an Animus modification by Layla Hassan, an Assassin who relived her memories in 2020.[3]
