An Elk shrine in Kaldstad

The Elk shrines were statues located in all the regions of Niflheimr that had the ability to restore health upon touching them.

History[edit | edit source]

In Eivor Varinsdottir's visions of Odin's time in Niflheim, the Æsir lord traveled the realm to revive his son Baldr after his death in Svartálfaheimr. While traveling through the regions of Kaldstad, Døkkerland, Nidheim, and Helheimr multiple times, Havi replenished his health by using the elk shrines across the lands.[1]
