Clonfert Abbey

Clonfert Abbey was an abbey, named after Celtic monk Brendan of Clonfert, located in southern Connacht, Ireland.

History[edit | edit source]

In the late 9th century, the Viking jarlskona Eivor Varinsdottir and her longship crew raided the abbey and acquired trade post supplies for Ireland's trade posts.[1]
