Brother Cedric was a monk at Saint Hadrian's Priory in Cent, England in the late 9th century.
There, while they fostered a man called Basim, he came upon brother Hortbert and the newcomer discussing faith, evil, and free will, with Basim managing to get Hortbert to question the scriptures before Cedric intervened.[1]
