The spiked staff is a long weapon that features spikes protruding at the end of a pole. It was particularly popular with extremists during the French Revolution.
Description[edit | edit source]
A crude weapon, the spiked staff is essentially a staff with a metal bulge planted on one end. Embedded into this mace-head are sharp pieces of metal that serve as spikes.[1]
History[edit | edit source]
At the height of the French Revolution, the spiked staff was especially common with radical revolutionaries who committed violence throughout Paris. There, it was valued at 5,000₣.[1]
