The Monument of Epigones was a monument featuring seven statues located within the Sanctuary of Delphi in Phokis, Greece.
History[edit | edit source]
Dedicated by the Argives to the Sanctuary following their victory over Spartans, the statues represent the seven leaders of the legendary expedition against Thebes, Boeotia.[1]
During the Peloponnesian War, the misthios Kassandra visited the monument.[2]
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
Historically, the Epigoni were the sons of the Seven Against Thebes who avenged their fathers, not the seven leaders themselves. The in-game monument seems to be a combination of the Exedra of the Epigones and an ex-voto dedicated to the seven leaders themselves.[3]
