Officer's Club

The Officer's Club was a government building in the Karkh district of Baghdad, reserved as a meeting place for officers of the Abbasid Caliphate. During the 9th century, Al-Rukh and Al-A'eshma, two members of the Order of the Ancients, held regular meetings at the club with their contact in Jarjaraya, Dogan bin Arslan.[1]

History

In the 860s, after helping the Zanj rebels eliminate Dogan, the Hidden One Basim Ibn Ishaq recovered a letter from his body which traced Al-Rukh's and Al-A'eshma's location to the Officer's Club. Returning to Baghdad, Basim infiltrated the club and eavesdropped on a meeting between the Order members, discovering their identities as Turkic generals Jasoor and Nadir. The two later left after being informed of Dogan's death by a guard, and Basim escaped from the club as well.[1]
