Qasr Salih

The Qasr Salih was a palace and fort in the Karkh district of Baghdad, located next to the Prince's Gate. During the 9th century, it served as the home and base of operations of the Arab general Jasoor ibn Basil, who was an Order of the Ancients member operating under the cryptonym of "Al-Rukh".[1]

In the 860s, the Hidden One Basim Ibn Ishaq infiltrated the fort and assassinated Jasoor in the hopes of uncovering the identity of his superior within the Order, "Al-Mardikhwar". After killing Jasoor, Basim recovered a note from his body revealing that Al-Mardikhwar was based at the Great Garrison, and subsequently escaped from the fort.[1]
