The Auxiliary Shield was a shield utilized by Auxilias, non-Roman citizens from the peregrine that was found in Egypt during the 1st century BCE.

The Auxiliary Shield was based on the square parma type shields which were actually used by gladiators. The actual auxiliary parma shields were oval.
