Atasáta the Kryn was an individual of Native American descent, who was raised away from his tribe by his father and taught how to hunt, using the skills to survive. When his father was killed by a zealous British soldier, Atasáta roamed the cities, always looking for a chance at revenge.

In 2012, his genetic memories were used as an Animi Avatar by Abstergo Industries, for the training of the recruits in the third stage of their Animi Training Program, under the title of the Shadow.
