Prison Break was a visual representation of Ratonhnhaké:ton's genetic memories.

Description

Ratonhnhaké:ton had been brought to Boston. Beyond his prison walls awaited enemies, friends, and an unlikely ally.

Dialogue

Ratonhnhaké:ton was locked in a prison within Boston. A Bluecoat was seated next to a table outside his cell, carving a trapezoid into the table's surface while muttering to himself.

  • Bluecoat: Our beacon! ... Yes, yes. Our beacon. It watches over us. We love our King. He watches over ... us!

Israel Putnam walked in alongside George Washington and Benjamin Franklin. Seeing them enter, the Bluecoat quickly dropped the knife, grabbed his rifle, and stood at attention.

  • Putnam: I've got a present for you, Your Highness.
  • Washington: A present?
  • Putnam: I think you'll be rather pleased.
  • Washington: How very thoughtful, Putnam. Do you know any of this, Mister Franklin?
  • Franklin: No, it's news to me. What sort of present, General Putnam?
  • Putnam: The best sort. Come see!

Putnam walked toward Ratonhnhaké:ton's cell and gestured to the Bluecoat.

  • Putnam: Rouse him!

The Bluecoat rattled the bars of Ratonhnhaké:ton's cell and stepped aside.

Washington, Franklin and Putnam conversing.
  • Putnam: It's the one you blasted point blank in the village, sire.
  • Washington: Really? He survived? Remarkable.

Franklin tried to attract Washington's attention with his own prisoner while walking towards a nearby cell. However, Washington's attention remained on Ratonhnhaké:ton.

  • Franklin: Yes, well, I've captured one myself, sire. In the next cell. A savage who joined that traitor, Sam Adams.

Washington walked away from Ratonhnhaké:ton's cell but did not look at Franklin.

  • Washington: Have them both beheaded, along with a score of citizens taken at random, as an example to all.
  • Franklin: Random citizens? Isn't that rather harsh, Your Majesty?

Washington put on a stunned look and turned to address Franklin while walking towards him. Franklin avoided eye contact.

  • Washington: "Harsh," sir!? Is it harsh to defend our freedoms? Is it harsh to extinguish those who would enslave us? Mr. Franklin, I suggest you examine your commitment to the cause, sir!
  • Franklin: Yes, yes, of course, Your Majesty.
  • Washington: Have the scaffolds made ready.
  • Franklin: My Liege.

Benjamin Franklin bowed and turned to leave the room. Washington watched him leave and began to address Putnam. He then walked back to Ratonhnhaké:ton's cell.

  • Washington: Putnam, I fear Mr. Franklin is going soft. See to it that this so-called rebellion is crushed, and I'll consider rearranging just who is in charge.
  • Putnam: I already have a plan, My Lord.

Washington turned to Ratonhnhaké:ton.

  • Washington: As for you... Let's see how you survive with the loss of your head! Eh? Carry on, Putnam!
  • Putnam: Yes, Your Highness.

As Washington left the prison, the Bluecoat saluted.

  • Putnam: Stay sharp, soldier!

Putnam followed Washington out and the Bluecoat began muttering to himself once more.

  • Bluecoat: Over us, he watches. Our beacon watches.
    Our beacon watching over us.
Our beacon, our beacon. He is.

Ratonhnhaké:ton hit the bars of his cell.

  • Bluecoat: Don't you dare try anything! I've got my eye on you, I do.

Ratonhnhaké:ton hit the bars of his cell once more.

  • Bluecoat: You'll have a nice view tomorrow, with your head up high on a pike and all!

Ratonhnhaké:ton activated Wolf Cloak. The Bluecoat panicked and quickly beckoned for another guard to lend assistance.

  • Bluecoat 1: Help! He's escaped! I need help!
  • Bluecoat 2: What's going on?
  • Bluecoat 1: Shut up, you! Help!
  • Bluecoat 2: What's happened?
  • Bluecoat 1: He was here, then gone! There must be a hole or something.

The Bluecoats opened the the cell and Ratonhnhaké:ton slipped out, locking the two guards inside.

  • Kanen'tó:kon: Hey! Anyone alive? Get me out of here!

Ratonhnhaké:ton approached the adjacent cell.

  • Kanen'tó:kon: Ratonhnhaké:ton?
  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: Kanen'tó:kon! Alive? ... Oh, my friend, I cannot believe you're here!
Ratonhnhaké:ton reunited with Kanen'tó:kon.

The two shook hands through the bars of Kanen'tó:kon's cell.

  • Kanen'tó:kon: And you! They said you have been killed. Along with your mother.
  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: The Clan Mother brought me to health. Kanen'tó:kon, I was unable to protect my mother. I was unable to save the village.
  • Kanen'tó:kon: I'm very sorry, Ratonhnhaké:ton. It has been difficult here as well. I fight with Sam Adams' rebels, but we are too few and too weak. But hurry! Get me out!

Ratonhnhaké:ton nodded and began searching for the key to Kanen'tó:kon's cell.

  • Kanen'tó:kon: Washington is enslaving the people and looting everything. He ships the slaves and treasure to New York to build his palace. The rebels tried to free some slaves, but we were ambushed and I was captured.
  • Bluecoat 1: We're locked in!
  • Bluecoat 2: How'd you let that happen?
  • Bluecoat 1: It wasn't me!
  • Bluecoat 2: Christ! The King'll have our heads for this.
  • Bluecoat 1: But he watches over us!
  • Bluecoat 2: Shut it, would ya!

Ratonhnhaké:ton found the key and freed Kanen'tó:kon.

  • Kanen'tó:kon: Thank you for getting me out of there. Get what you need, then we'll go.

Ratonhnhaké:ton retrieved his bow and quiver from a table.

  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: This is not everything.

Ratonhnhaké:ton opened a door leading to a warehouse.

  • Bluecoat 1: Help! He's escaped! I need help!
Ratonhnhaké:ton in the warehouse.
  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: Wait here. I will let you through when it is clear.

Several groups of Bluecoats conversed as Ratonhnhaké:ton moved through the warehouse.

  • Bluecoat 3: General Putnam is on another tear.
  • Bluecoat 4: Best to lay low.
  • Bluecoat 3: Had a man whipped for not shaving properly.
  • Bluecoat 4: That fellow got off easy.
  • Bluecoat 5: The King himself, here in Boston!
  • Bluecoat 6: Makes me nervous.
  • Bluecoat 5: It's our chance to distinguish ourselves in his eyes!
  • Bluecoat 6: Makes me very nervous.
  • Bluecoat 7: I'm in a pickle.
  • Bluecoat 8: How's that?
  • Bluecoat 7: Commander Franklin wants curfew imposed at ten o'clock, but then General Putnam told me to start at nine.
  • Bluecoat 8: You're mincemeat, my friend.
  • Bluecoat 7: Franklin is harsh, but Putnam is crazy. I better start at nine.

Ratonhnhaké:ton made his way to a room containing his equipment.

  • Bluecoat 9: Look at this rubbish we brought back. Useless!
  • Bluecoat 10: It's spoils of war now!
  • Bluecoat 9: The owner put up a hell of a fight.
  • Bluecoat 10: Old black geezer with the cane?
  • Bluecoat 9: That's the fella!

Ratonhnhaké:ton eliminated the guards and retrieved his equipment.

Outcome

Ratonhnhaké:ton escaped his cell, freed Kanen'tó:kon, and recovered his equipment.

Trivia

  • To achieve full synchronization, Ratonhnhaké:ton had to kill three guards while remaining undetected.

Sky World Journey was a visual representation of Ratonhnhaké:ton's genetic memories.

Description

After drinking the tea of the Red Willow, Ratonhnhaké:ton was transported to the Sky World where he met another spirit animal and earned another power.

Dialogue

Kanen'tó:kon with the tea from the Red Willow.

Kanen'tó:kon found a vial containing the tea from the Red Willow.

  • Kanen'tó:kon: What is that?
  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: From the Red Willow.
  • Kanen'tó:kon: Ah! That is how you can move as you do. You went on a Sky Journey.
  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: Yes.

Kanen'tó:kon attempted to drink the tea.

  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: What are you doing?
  • Kanen'tó:kon: If we want to defeat Washington, I will need the strength from the Animal Spirits.
  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: No! I defied my mother to go on that journey. It is too dangerous.
  • Kanen'tó:kon: We have no choice.
  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: But you're risking yourself for nothing! Even with the help of the wolf, I was taken captive.
  • Kanen'tó:kon: You don't know anything. Every journey holds the chance of meeting a new Animal Spirit.

Kanen'tó:kon attempted to drink once more.

  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: Wait! Every journey holds the chance of losing yourself. I understand the risks, I will take the journey.

Kanen'tó:kon relinquished the vial. After one last look at his friend, Ratonhnhaké:ton drank the tea and was transported into the Sky World, where he met his spirit animal, the eagle. Ratonhnhaké:ton helped the eagle protect her eggs from bobcats, and was subsequently granted the power of the spirit animal, and obtained Eagle Flight.

Following that, he followed the eagle through the Sky World using his newfound power, and completed his Sky World Journey.

Outcome

Ratonhnhaké:ton unlocked the abilities of his spirit animal, the eagle, by drinking the tea of the Great Willow.

Trivia

  • To achieve full synchronization, three constraints had to be completed: Ratonhnhaké:ton had to protect all three eggs, chain three Eagle Flights twice and avoid all obstacles while following the eagle.

Dive Bomb was a visual representation of Ratonhnhaké:ton's genetic memories, lived through an alternate reality created by an Apple of Eden.

Description

Ratonhnhaké:ton and Kanen'tó:kon were attacked by Bluecoats inside the warehouse they were held in, but made their way out.

Dialogue

Ratonhnhaké:ton awakened from his Sky World Journey.

  • Kanen'tó:kon: Ratonhnhaké:ton! Ratonhnhaké:ton!

Kanen'tó:kon retrieved his knife from a Bluecoat's corpse and helped Ratonhnhaké:ton to his feet. Ratonhnhaké:ton briefly put his hands over his eyes.

  • Kanen'tó:kon: Bluecoats! They've sounded the alarm! Did you see a spirit? Are you all right?
  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: I never felt better.

Ratonhnhaké:ton used Eagle Flight to leave the room. Two Bluecoats were attempting to enter the room he had just left.

  • Bluecoat 1: Get your shoulder into it!
Break it! Break the goddamn door!
Put some muscle on it, you lily-livered cod!
Franklin and the Bluecoats entering the warehouse.

After Ratonhnhaké:ton dispatched the two Bluecoats, Benjamin Franklin entered the warehouse with several more.

  • Franklin: They're crazed savages! Kill them, or Washington will have our heads.

Franklin began to turn and leave.

  • Franlkin: Or at least mine.

Franklin left and the Bluecoats began scouring through the warehouse.

  • Bluecoat 2: Not a blessed thing here!
  • Bluecoat 3: Ain't nobody here at all!
  • Bluecoat 4: I don't see a damned thing!

Ratonhnhaké:ton discreetly eliminated the five Bluecoats and left the warehouse with Kanen'tó:kon.

  • Kanen'tó:kon: There's Franklin!
  • Franklin: Those are the savages! Attack!

Franklin quickly fled.

  • Kanen'tó:kon: I'll take the Bluecoats! You stop Franklin!

Ratonhnhaké:ton caught up, but Franklin escaped using a merchandise lift to reach the rooftops. Ratonhnhaké:ton chased Franklin and assassinated him using Eagle Flight.

Outcome

Ratonhnhaké:ton escaped the warehouse and assassinated Benjamin Franklin.

Trivia

  • To achieve full synchronization, four constraints had to be completed: Ratonhnhaké:ton had to kill all five guards while remaining undetected, kill three of them using Eagle Assassinations, use an Eagle Assassination to kill Franklin, and complete all previous constraints in a single playthrough.

Consequences was a visual representation of Ratonhnhaké:ton's genetic memories.

Description

Ratonhnhaké:ton believed he had assassinated Benjamin Franklin, however, discovered it was an illusion brought about by the Apple of Eden used by George Washington.

Dialogue

Ratonhnhaké:ton assassinated Benjamin Franklin who opened his eyes. He began to speak as Ratonhnhaké:ton knelt down next to him.

  • Franklin: You!? And where ...? I ... I don't understand. Who am I?
  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: Why did Arnold say that you could help me?
  • Franklin: Is this me? It is! This is myself! I've, I've come to myself! ... My god, what have I done?
Washington appearing.

Washington teleported in using the Apple.

  • Washington: I don't care for those who meddle in my plans.

Washington fired an energy blast with the Apple.

  • Washington: Recoil before my vast power.
    Get thee hence!
    Back! You miserable wretch!

Ratonhnhaké:ton was thrown back. Washington readied another blast.

  • Washington: I will send you back to hell!

Ratonhnhaké:ton avoided the blast and attacked Washington using Eagle Flight.

  • Washington: What black magic is this?

After enduring a few punches, Washington forcefully repelled Ratonhnhaké:ton using the Apple.

  • Washington: You cannot reach me!
    What?
Ratonhnhaké:ton attacking Washington.

Ratonhnhaké:ton once again struck Washington using Eagle Flight, following which Washington repelled him once more.

  • Washington: Another magician's trick!

Washington summoned glowing orbs of light which prevented subsequent frontal assaults with Eagle Flight. He subsequently renewed his assault on Ratonhnhaké:ton.

  • Washington: Here is the heat of my anger!
    Burn by divine fire!
    Behold the searing light!
    See the light!

Ratonhnhaké:ton used Wolf Cloak to sneak past the orbs.

  • Washington: What?! Where are you?

Ratonhnhaké:ton attempted to attack Washington once more.

  • Washington: Welcome back.

Ratonhnhaké:ton used Wolf Cloak once more.

  • Washington: Clever trick.
    Any other tricks?

Ratonhnhaké:ton attacked Washington, following which Washington used the Apple to make the ground beneath Ratonhnhaké:ton's feet collapse.

  • Washington: Behold! He returns to light!
Ratonhnhaké:ton flying from one platform to another using Eagle Flight.

Ratonhnhaké:ton found himself on a floating platform. He used Eagle Flight to traverse from one platform to another, while enormous phantoms of Washington and Kaniehtí:io began to torment him.

  • Washington: Escape! Escape as best you can!
  • Kaniehtí:io Why did you disobey me, my son?!
  • Washington: Your mother cannot help you now.
  • Kaniehtí:io I wanted to protect you.
  • Washington: You failed to save your village. You failed to save your mother.
  • Kaniehtí:io Never again, Ratonhnhaké:ton!
  • Washington: It's all falling away, falling away, falling away!

The final platform collapsed and Ratonhnhaké:ton fell into the darkness. Ratonhnhaké:ton lay on his right side, unconscious. Kanen'tó:kon knelt next to him and spoke, startling him awake.

  • Kanen'tó:kon: Ratonhnhaké:ton! What happened?

Ratonhnhaké:ton sat up and looked around quickly.

  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: I had him! I had Franklin! Then ... Washington ... I ... I do not know.
  • Kanen'tó:kon: Washington?
  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: Maybe I don't have to free Franklin from a prison. I have to free him from Washington's power.

Ratonhnhaké:ton brought himself up to one knee. Then a man approached them revealing himself to be Samuel Adams.

  • Adams: Young man, do you need a doctor?

Ratonhnhaké:ton shook hands with Adams, with the latter helping him back to his feet.

  • Kanen'tó:kon: I found an ally, Ratonhnhaké:ton.
  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: Samuel Adams!
  • Adams: Ah! Do I know you?

Kanen'tó:kon watched the two converse briefly before turning around to survey the area.

  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: I ... I know of you, sir.
  • Adams: Ah... you are the famous man with the wolf hood.
  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: I admire the work you have done, and are doing now.
  • Adams: We fight, but times are hard. We can use your assistance.

Kanen'tó:kon turned back to the two.

  • Kanen'tó:kon: Come Ratonhnhaké:ton, we should all get out of here. We have a place that is safe.

Kanen'tó:kon and Adams departed to the safehouse.

Outcome

Ratonhnhaké:ton escaped the illusion after defeating King Washington.

Return to Sender was a visual representation of Ratonhnhaké:ton's genetic memories.

Description

Dialogue

Ratonhnhaké:ton rendezvoused with his allies at a safehouse. Kanen'tó:kon and Samuel were discussing tactics while several Redcoats milled about.

  • Kanen'tó:kon: We'll be trapped in this alley if Franklin comes with reinforcements.
  • Adams: Like last time. Ratonhnhaké:ton! I'm told you're an extraordinary hunter - able to track anything or anyone.
  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: I do my best.
  • Adams: I could use such a man. I fought for years in the cause of freedom. I believed Washington would be the man to lead us to a new age! But he turned, and I had to start again. Sadly, our second rebellion is faltering...
  • Redcoat: Sir, We're out of gunpowder!
  • Adams: We must leave Boston or be crushed altogether. But I wish to free some comrades to bring along with us. Loyal boys, all of them.
  • Kanen'tó:kon: But this time we must avoid being surprised by that murderer, Franklin.
  • Adams: If I had a man track Franklin down while we attempt to free our friends, it would disorient the Bluecoats and ensure our success.
  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: I have my own reasons to get Franklin.
  • Adams: Capital! We have an accordance of desires.
Ratonhnhaké:ton, Kanen'tó:kon and Adams planning their next move.

Samuel drew Ratonhnhaké:ton's attention to the tactical map on the table.

  • Adams: From time to time we get important information from this tavern right here. Your appearance draws attention, but if you're able to mingle with the denizens, you should be able to discover Franklin's movements.

Ratonhnhaké:ton made his way to the tavern and entered it.

  • Bluecoat 1: I didn't think they allowed savages in here.
  • Bluecoat 2: This one should be in a slave camp.
  • Patron: Anyone want to play? I'll take on all comers!
  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: Care for a game?

Ratonhnhaké:ton and the patron began a game of checkers.

  • Patron: It's much better than cards, don't you think? I remember-
  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: Hey! I'm trying to concentrate.
  • Patron: Fine. Just being sociable. Sheesh.

A Bluecoat messenger and his friend sat at a nearby table for a drink.

  • Messenger: Jimminy! Ol' Franklin's sending me out with another message!
  • Bluecoat 3: Oh, you're in for it now.
  • Messenger: And here's the worst of it- the message is for Putnam!
  • Bluecoat 3: Christ! You're a dead mackerel.
  • Messenger: Right. With either of those two, there's always some reason to end up flogged!
  • Bluecoat 3: Franklin will give you the lash, and then Putnam will try to outdo him!
  • Messenger: Something big is up. Only one ale for me. I have to get this to Putnam's lieutenant, or it's the whip. Or maybe worse!
Ratonhnhaké:ton reading the letter from Franklin.

Ratonhnhaké:ton left the game and followed the messenger out of the tavern, tailing him and stealing the letter from him, which read:

"General Putnam.
There appears to be a misunderstanding regarding our respective positions and authorities. A personal meeting is called for: at the docks, tomorrow, ten at night. The usual sentinels will secure our safety.
Yours,
Ben. Franklin."
  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: If Putnam doesn't get this message, I will miss my chance to trap Franklin. I must return it to the messenger's satchel.

Ratonhnhaké:ton used Eagle Vision to locate the messenger and returned the letter to his satchel.

  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: If this is delivered, it will lead me to Franklin.

Ratonhnhaké:ton made his way to the docks, where he swiftly eliminated the two sentinels and awaited Franklin and Putnam's arrival. Eventually, Franklin arrived at the docks, but was greeted by another Bluecoat instead of Putnam.

  • Franklin: Who are you?
  • Bluecoat 4: General Putnam is unable to meet with you.
  • Franklin: What? Well, this is absurd! Washington will hear of this.
  • Bluecoat 4: King Washington? His Majesty has removed himself to New York city to deal with the rebellion festering there.
  • Franklin: Removed himself? Why wasn't I informed?!
  • Bluecoat 4: General Putnam asked me to deliver this proclamation from the King.

The Bluecoat handed Franklin a folded letter. Franklin opened it and began to read it aloud.

  • Franklin: "This attests that Israel Putnam is heretofore to..." What is this?!
  • Bluecoat 4: From now on, you take orders from Putnam.

Franklin angrily tossed the letter aside.

  • Franklin: Me? Take orders from him!? I suggest you show me some respect sir, or I'll have these men shoot you down! Sentinels!

Franklin looked around for his sentinels, but spotted Ratonhnhaké:ton instead.

  • Franklin: Sentinels! ... But... ?
Ratonhnhaké:ton chasing Franklin.

Ratonhnhaké:ton shot an arrow at Franklin with his bow, however, Franklin avoided the shot by using the Bluecoat as a human shield. Franklin then attempted to escape, but was shot in the shoulder by a second arrow. Ratonhnhaké:ton then chased Franklin, until the latter bumped into some civilians, losing his balance and falling in the process.

  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: Hold still.

Ratonhnhaké:ton removed the arrow and began to pace around Franklin.

  • Franklin: Aaaaah!
  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: Come with me.
  • Franklin: My God. What have we done? I became a monster. It was as if Washington had some, some great power.
  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: Come on!
  • Franklin: He clouded my mind... he, he ...

Ratonhnhaké:ton grabbed Franklin by the left arm and dragged him to his feet.

  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: I don't want to hear it. Come with me!

Ratonhnhaké:ton began leading Franklin at gunpoint towards a secluded location.

  • Franklin: Are you taking me somewhere to be killed? But I can help you now!
You have to understand, it was as if my very thoughts were controlled. I simply could not think for myself!
Don't kill me! Not now that I've come to my senses!

Three Bluecoats lined up and readied their muskets at Ratonhnhaké:ton and Franklin. Ratonhnhaké:ton summoned his spirit wolves to eliminate them.

  • Franklin: My stars! These animals do your bidding? Astonishing.
I did monstrous things. Monstrous! I repent of those. I was literally a different man!

Ratonhnhaké:ton pushed Franklin to the ground and held his tomahawk to his throat.

  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: If I let you live?
  • Franklin: My only wish is to atone for my wickedness. I will devote every moment to destroying the King!
  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: How?
  • Franklin: My dear man. I can be of enormous benefit. I served at Washington's side. I know his habits quite well.
  • Ratonhnhaké:ton: We will speak to Adams about this.

Ratonhnhaké:ton removed the tomahawk and stood back up. Franklin got back to his feet and dusted himself off.

Outcome

Ratonhnhaké:ton captured Benjamin Franklin.
