:Likely, Matthew was the original owner of the Homestead. The chances of an elderly black man owner a house, let alone a Manor in those days was, to put it lightly, impossible. That said, it can be assumed that Achille's was possibly Matthew's manservant, and inherited control of the Manor after his employers/owners death. Commander's daughter
I found a pretty interesting fact about his daughter's name, Eleanor, which is tied to the and Animus anima stages. Since the main Assassins' lovers shared the names of these development stages. - Likely, Matthew was the original owner of the Homestead. The chances of an elderly black man owner a house, let alone a Manor in those days was, to put it lightly, impossible.
