William Johnson was an Anglo-Irish official of the British Empire, who initially moved to the Province of New York to manage an estate purchased by his uncle, Admiral Peter Warren, which was located amidst the Mohawk. During the French and Indian War, Johnson commanded Iroquois and colonial militia forces. Johnson also assisted in keeping Native Americans committed to the interests of the British.[1]
He was pursued by the Assassin Ratonhnhaké:ton after he sought to buy Connor's native village, which jeopardized the security of Connor's tribe.
It was his tea that was destroyed in the Boston Tea Party by the Colonists with the help of Ratonhnhaké:ton, Paul Revere, William Molineux, and Apprentice Stephane Chapheau.
Eventually, he was assassinated by Ratonhnhaké:ton, not long after the end of the Tea Party.[2]
