Queen Victoria (24 May 1819 – 22 January 1901), born Alexandrina Victoria of the House of Hanover, was the Queen of the United Kingdom from 1837 until her death. After 1876, she also took the title of Empress of India.
Her reign of 63 years is known as the Victorian era. It was marked by the Industrial Revolution and a great expansion of the British Empire and was consequently a period of cultural, political, scientific, and military change within the United Kingdom.
