The tomahawk was a type of axe used by Ratonhnhaké:ton, also known as Connor Kenway, along with other Native Americans, and was most effective when used in close combat.

During the American Revolutionary War, the Mohawk Assassin used a tomahawk with a head resembling the Assassin insignia, which he would often dual-wield alongside another weapon, such as the short blade.

Assassins Creed III originally was to feature scalping, This concept has been dropped because it wasn't authentic to the main character Conner's heritage.
