The tomahawk was a type of axe used by Native Americans in North America.

During the American Revolutionary War, the Assassin Connor Kenway used a tomahawk with a head resembling the Assassin insignia. The tomahawk will most likely be used in close combat, as shown in the Announcement Trailer for Assassin's Creed III.
