The Wanderer was a Jewish Sage born in Roman Judea.
Biography
Circa 30 CE, he was believed to have encountered Jesus of Nazareth on his way to his crucifixion at Golgotha, though all references to him were unreliable.[1] In 2014, Abstergo Industries added him to a list of possible Sages and sent it to their Future Technology division's Director of Research Álvaro Gramática. The Assassins later retrieved a copy of the information and stored it for the Helix Initiate to view themselves.[1]
Behind the scenes
Mentioned only in a database entry within the 2014 video game Assassin's Creed: Unity, "The Wanderer" draws parallels with the real-world folkloric figure of the Wandering Jew, a man who had met and mocked Jesus on his way to the crucifixion and thus was cursed with immortality, destined to roam Earth until the Second Coming.[2]
