Thaleia was known to wear gloves to cover her finger nails which were sharp as an eagle's talons. There were even times when she would use those nails as weapons, especially as a last resort.
During the Peloponnesian War, a bounty contract was placed on Thaleia, which the Spartan misthios Kassandra accepted.[1]
