Tailors were clothing merchants in the Renaissance Italy. Tailors upgraded Ezio's pouches, allowing him to carry more Medicine, Poison, Throwing Knives, Crossbow Bolts and Parachutes. They could also dye Ezio's clothes with various colors depending on the city or district.

Upgrading Pouches increased Ezio's carrying capacity of a certain item by 5. Generally, it was required to purchase a lower priced Pouch upgrade in order to access the higher priced ones. However, the Large Medicine Pouch could be purchased for 6000 florins (and upgrade capacity directly to 15) without purchasing the Medium Pouch for 3000 florins (which only upgrades capacity to 10).

16th Century

The Tailors returned in Rome and were stocked with the original upgrades and dyes, as well as some new ones. However, Ezio's cape could now be dyed separately to the rest of his robes.
In addition, Tailors sold Ezio parachutes after he had destroyed all of Leonardo da Vinci's war machines. Different dyes were sold in each of the three main districts.
Two additional items were also sold only at tailors. Smoke bombs were made available by purchasing the smoke bomb pouch, and the Heavy Sheath allowed Ezio to carry Heavy weapons as primary weapons.

Trivia
- The achievement "Perfect Harmony" can be obtained by dyeing Ezio's clothes with Wetland Ebony and Wetland Ivory, both of which are available in Forlì.
- Dye prices in Monteriggioni change depending on how well you've renovated the Tailor's shop.
- Outfits such as the Armor of Altaïr, the Helmschmied Drachen Armor, and the Armor of Brutus are unaffected by dyes.
- Tailors are sometimes quite offensive to Ezio if he doesn't buy anything, saying things like "Awwww, poorly dressed a little while longer!"
- According to the novelization of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Ezio became good friends with the Monteriggioni tailor, who was later killed during the siege.
- The Wetlands Ebony dye closely resembles the bonus black dye obtained through the Assassin's Creed II mobile game.
