Behind the name

The Sword of Avaris, a blade in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, shares its model with the commonly found Ceremonial Khopesh, another weapon in the same game. These are both the recycled model of Aruna, a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Origins.

The name of the Sword of Avaris references Avaris, the former capital city of Egypt under the Hyksos, a group of peoples originating from Canaan who established the Fifteenth Dynasty of Egypt.
