Shahar was the twin brother of Shalim, the son of Moloch, and one of Armand Bouchart's closest men. He was a young nobleman identical in appearance and dress to his brother Shalim.

He told his public of Armand Bouchart's wishes and the consequences for those who did not obey. Then, after his speech, Shahar made his way into Saint Hilarion Castle, disappearing. Altaïr, having found a quick route into the castle by a group of courtesans - Maria being one of them - followed Shahar inside.
