]]Providence, of a si Samuel Smith (unknown – 1752) was a member of the Templar Order, operating in and around Great Britain's Thirteen Colonies during the Seven Years' War. The treasurer of the Colonial Rite, Smith was tasked by Lawrence Washington to safeguard the mysterious artifact known only as "the Precursor Box".
Smith was present at Washington's garden party at Mount Vernon in 1752, and some months later was pursued by the Assassins Shay Cormac, Liam O'Brien, and Chevalier de La Vérendrye as they tracked the Box. After a brief chase at sea, Smith docked at the island of Terra Nova and attempted to flee with the item. However, he was followed by Cormac and dispatched with an air assassination. As Smith died, Shay retrieved the Box and turned his attention to locating Smith's colleague, James Wardrop.
